Offline tool presetting allows manufacturers
to measure cutting tools outside the CNC
machine, reducing spindle downtime and
improving setup efficiency. Dedicated
optical and vision-based tool presetters,
including systems from SPERONI,
Lyndex-Nikken, and HAIMER Microset,
measure tool length, diameter, and
geometry before machining begins.
These systems help machinists establish
accurate tool offsets, reduce manual
measurement errors, and improve consistency
between production runs. Compatible systems
can also support digital tool data transfer
to streamline CNC setup.
